The BEST and ONLY way to ship your glider to and fly your glider in Corowa Australia

For the last eleven years , we did ship up to 6 containers every year to and from Australia.
On schedule and only packed by the very experienced Grietje and Francesco to make sure
that all gliders get a safe out and return.
Why so serious about the packing? Just because it is not a Sunday afternoon job and we
realize that we are taking care of your very expensive glider.

We own and operate four unique 40 ft sea containers to ship 6 gliders
per container from Europe to Australia. We also look after the Container from Aerospool, Slovakia.
In 1998 we started the first transport of gliders from Europe to Australia.
Before we could send the first container we had to make a special design. We made a design
on the  principles of a glider trailer.
Together with Gert Buitink, the owner of GEBU trailers, we did build the first container code, BLUE.
The first trip was a successful one and as a result of the demand of container places we decided to built a second one.
In June 1999 we made some improvements on the BLUE container en build the second one code, RED.
In April 2001 we  build a third container code GREEN for the transport of the gliders owned by the customers of the
Australian Soaring Centre Corowa.
With all the knowledge so far we made some improvements and designed a high cube container, so we also can
transport gliders like Duo Discus and DG1000 etc without the risk of damage.
In August 2005 we finished this 4th container code
WHITE.
A fifth container will be ready for the 2009/2010 season.

We take care of all the paperwork, concerning the transport from Europe Corowa v.v.
The only thing  for our customers  to do, is deliver the glider in Venlo, give a little hand
with the packing, fly in Australia give a hand with packing again and pick it up when it's back
in Venlo after the Australian season.

Australian Quarantine:

The Australian Quarantine Inspection Service (AQIS) requires clean gliders,
Gliders have to been cleaned and free of material of animal and plant origin and soil.
Before we are allowed to unpack the containers AQIS will inspect every glider.
Especially the undercarriage, tail- nose- and wing wheels.

Packing

After a few years lifting the wings by hand and hurting our backs we developed and build in 2001
a lifter to make it is easier to put them in top of the container. Nevertheless we had to hold it on
the wing tip while packing.
For next season we will modify it after the first year experience and build a second one so, we can lift
the complete wing

Venlo

In order to keep the traveling distance for our customers as short as possible we have located
the containers in Venlo NL.
The last 11 year we used the location of Gerrit Kurstjens in Grubbenvorst.
We like to thank Gerrit and Theo Heldens to make it possible to use their property for packing and unpacking.
This year we moved temporarely to the new location in Venlo and from next year on the
new developed Ultra Light Airfield of Cycloon near Venlo.
